We obviously aren't keeping all these big men around. Hopefully we can move 1 or more of them for shooters or an athletic wing.

As it stands the Pels bigs consist of:

Boogie
AD
Casspi
Ajinca
Asik
Diallo
Jones
Monty

Also, here's a list of UFA SGs:

J.J.
Anthony Morrow
Jodie Meeks
Brandon Rush
Kyle Korver
Jason Terry

**I check this board everyday and it's usually depressing. I can't tell you how excited I am. This has brought energy back to the franchise. I am pumped about the future games between the Pels and Rockets. This will take the rivalry to a new level!

We need to do whatever it takes to sign Tony Allen this offseason.

Him and Jrue in the back court with Boogie and AD would give us the best defensive team in the league.

God I cant even express how excited I am about this move.

Headcase? yea, but his boy AD will keep him level.

Doubt Asik is going anywhere since we no long have "sweetener" to add. I assume we stretch him this summer.

Terrence Jones is rumored to be next. He should bring back a good player. He's cheap and can be used by all playoff teams.

I wouldn't be shocked if the Pels got Nick Young. Perfect kind of gunner off the bench and Demps has been intrigued by him before. Other targets could include Bogdanovic and Brandon Rush. Lance and/or Quinn Cook as FA's

There will be at least one more small move. Maybe two

That would bring back a good player if he weren't expiring. At this point I'm just hoping he'll help us dump Ajinca and/or get us a competent backup 2 guard

Williams would cost more than the Pels can part with

Pels have almost no assets to move to a terrible team outside of their own 2nd- which is worthless. I wouldn't expect anybody you get really excited about

Jones is really valuable to pretty much any playoff teams.

Start scanning rosters and look for guards who aren't key to their teams success.

Thats our list of options.

Yeah good point.

Hopefully we find something because our bench is depleted. Don't get me wrong though, I'd do it again in a heartbeat

Cavs could use Jones in the worst way.

They have a good bit of solid young peices on the bench. Maybe could get two of Liggins, McRae, Felder.

McRae could fill it up on the 2nd unit.

When you do that, you will find very few options and even fewer once you realize salaries have to match. Then, you have to include someone like Ajinca or Asik to make it match and that essentially kills the positive value Jones has

My guess is Dell will have to get creative with at least one three teamer or he moves Jones for a pick and cash and then moves that somewhere else for a guy. But he will get it done

A trade sending Jones to OKC for Morrow makes some sense to me. Would have to include DC or Ajinca (with that guy going to 3rd team)

Morrow has struggled as he just stands around watching Russ but Dell really likes him and he liked it here. Another one to watch

I haven't had enough coffee yet to draw up 3 teamers.

Yes, options are so limited to max out the Jones value because he's so cheap.

Another name I saw in a 1 for 1 that matches salaries is Marcus Thornton in WAS. He's gotten no run, so not sure what he has left in tank.

Agreed.

I hated to lose him to FA. TJ fits well with them and Morrow is not being utilized.

Do the salaries match up?

I tried it on the NBA Trade Machine straight up and it failed.

The aggregate outgoing salaries are less than or equal to $9.8 million and therfore they can only acept the incoming aggregate salaries that don't exceeded 150% plus $100,000. The incoming salaries are greater than 150% plus $100,00. Cut $1,917,354 from the Pelicans incoming trade value to make this trade successful.

However, Jones/Ajinca for Morrow worked.

CLE is in a unique situation such that a productive guy on a min contract is more valuable to them because of the tax implications. Would like to see Jones for the rights to Cedi Osman.
