Much more serious this year than ever before. Had a "drop the mike" ending with saying he worked on being "unguardable" and walked off the stage.

That was great. I'm glad he dropped the Aww Shucks act, it always felt fake and scripted. He doesn't have to be pissed all the time, but trying to control his image so much made things worse.

I kinda loved his interview. Pissed off Z can win a title. Aw shucks Z stays on the sidelines

Sounds focused. No more beating around the bush with vague fluff answers and he's clear and direct. Sounds like an adult.

Give me Evil Zion over the Zion we've had to date.

Mid November to early December.

I like what I'm hearing out of Dyson. Fred reworked his 3 point shot and he feels pretty comfortable with that. He also wants to improve his defense to be more like Herb. Go from defensive stopper to having defensive impact. Basically improved team/off-ball defense, playing passing lanes and such.

Interesting that he said they're planning to play him off the ball more this year.

If you have only...ONE great (non-5) defender...you have none. Just too easy for an opponent too avoid that ONE. DD will make Herb even better & Herb, of course, will make DD better defensively. It's gotten to the point that I can't decide if Herb is more valuable as an off-ball (help) defender or as a great on-ball defender. Anyway...it will be HUGE if DD can fall in there & develope into something close to Herb, on the defensive end...and fwiw, I think he will.

Our local media is the worst, constant questions about his offseason drama and injuries that they know he won’t answer and will just annoy him.

I did find interesting the statement about realizing who would be there for him if he didn’t have basketball and cutting the rest out. That shows a level of maturity knowing who’s there for the money and who is genuinely a friend and wouldn’t care either way.

lol?

He would get it A LOT worse in any larger market. New York, Chicago, Philly, LA would eat him the frick alive for this stuff. I'm talking on full blast brutal.

He has benefited greatly by being here with a softball media and less scrutiny/attention.

Didn’t like how Zion referred to the team…

‘The Pelicans’ did X Y and Z rather than ‘We’ did X Y and Z.

He said that a few times I think…

He was simply referring to the organization and how they worked with him, helped him, etc. I was not referring to the team

I took it the opposite way. He was singling them out in a good way for having his back. I think he talked about the Pelicans having plans rather than "us" having plans because previously he handled everything in house, and now he's trying things the team's way. It's new and moving in the right direction. If they win, it will become "We" next year.

Fair enough.

I see that kind of talk in the office all the time from disgruntled people. ‘They’… ‘The company’ …rather than ‘we’.

I’m probably reading too much into it. Just something I picked up and didn’t sit right with me.

I agree too. Not going to read too much into it and likely it’s nothing, but hopefully it’s not a sign of things to come.

Maybe its me but everyone just kinda seemed like they knew this is the last ride. There's going to me major shakeup next offseason if they don't perform
