This is going to linger.
Toni is so mentally soft that he's not gonna be able to just shake this off. Every time at the line now in a pressure situation, the fans are going to be tense, opposing fans will be going wild.
He'll wilt so hard. May even fake an injury.
Can you imagine how Ruffles would have reacted to the 10 count they did to Giannis. He might have cried on the court.
Lakers are fricked.

Chuck goes off on the Lakers and the NBA
quote:
Ernie: Sum this first half up for us?
Chuck: The Lakers stink. Y'all forcing us to show them all the time like they gonna be good.
Kenny: Y'all as in Ernie?
Chuck: Y'all, the NBA, it's a conspiracy. And then we got all these clowns on television who talk about them every day.
Kenny: It's a conspiracy?
Chuck: It's a conspiracy. Like, we have to talk about the Lakers. The Lakers are awful. We don't talk about no other 14th seed...well sorry, they're not a 14th seed, they're a 12 seed. We don't talk about, what's the 12 seed in the East? We don't never talk about the Washington Wizards, do we? EVER. Do we ever mention the Washington Wizards and the great Bradley Beal? No, but for some reason these morning talk shows and us, we have to show the Lakers all the time, the Lakers stink.
Ernie: Easy, it's the last time you're going to see them this year.
Chuck: No way?
Kenny: This is December
Shaq: You big dummy.

This is why this is the best sports show on TV.

What have we learned about the Lakers so far?
With a healthy AD and Lebron playing big minutes and at an All Pro level, they're a .500ish team.
They can put a big scare into good teams and on any given night, may be able to beat the elite.
However, their lack of depth kills them down the stretch.
So considering they are a .500 team with their two stars averaging 35+ minutes per game and maybe a .250 team when one is out, I think that they're in for a world of hurt.
No way Toni and his BF can maintain these minutes for much longer.
I predict within the next 10 games, one or both are hurt for a month and the free fall will accelerate.

They were gassed. Masengale all over the court after eating the "L".
Could end up bottom 2-5 in the league once LeBitch breaks a hip and T-gina checks out from sky screaming

Jake Fischer: LINK

Los Angeles’ primary trade efforts at this juncture have centered around a much smaller outgoing package of Patrick Beverley, Kendrick Nunn and a protected future first, sources told Yahoo Sports. The Lakers approached Detroit with that proposal in hopes of prying away Bojan Bogdanovic. The pick in question, however, was heavily protected, sources said, and the Pistons seem keen to hold out for a more tangible draft asset to part with Bogdanovic. Should Beverley ultimately get moved to a rebuilding situation like the Pistons, the grizzled guard has a desire to return to Minnesota, sources said, should he reach free agency via buyout.

Trash+trash+heavily protected pick for Bogie...well then
Posted on 12/15/22 at 8:44 am to shel311
Kendrick Nunn has a 4.7 PER and a .449 TS%
Patrick Beverley has a 5.9 WAR and .436 TS%
They are expirings but they are also in no way, shape or form, positive assets so it comes down to just picks. Why would a team entertain 1 heavily protected pick for Bogie? He'll obviously fetch more than that.

This was just so that Rob Pelinka could tell LeBron, "I'm trying."

Sam Amick in The Athletic:

According to a source with knowledge of the Lakers’ plans, Westbrook’s play this past month has made it increasingly unlikely that he will be traded before the league’s Feb. 9 deadline.

good
so now they have to weigh whether they want to protect space for irving next year, or go in for this year. because with nunn/bev/1 pick as their ammo they would 100% be taking back multi-year salary

They're playing just well enough to consider making no moves at all, and rolling the dice on the health of three old guys

There's no way I could dislike the Lakers more ... oh wait ... on NBA TV right now, there are discussing a possible trade with the Suns for Jae Crowder.

After Jordan Clarkson undress the Pels in that first half I look at his career stats
Man that 2017-2018 lakers team had:
Brandon Ingram
Julius Randle
Larry Nance
Brook Lopez
Jordan Clarkson
Alex Caruso
Josh Hart
Lonzo Ball
Kyle Kuzma
Kendarkous Caldwell Pope
Zubac
Other than Brandon Ingram, that may be the greatest assemblage of role players in nba history
