Even cutting all non-guaranteeds, renouncing all cap holds and sending Moore into space I'm not sure if we are there.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah even sending Moore out for nothing we don't get even close to that number.

I believe you are correct.

My guess is that the math doesn’t take into account the draft pick holds for Zion, Hayes, and NAW. That’s probably a good $14m or so right there.

Zion 9.7
Hayes 4.8
NAW 2.8

Adrian Wojnarowski

Portland is trading Evan Turner to Atlanta for Kent Bazemore, league source tells ESPN.

Odd trade for Atlanta. I would think they would be getting a future 2nd in the deal at least.

If I remember correctly both have one year left. I think Baze makes slightly more?

Bazemore can be a useful player at times, just vastly overpaid.

Apparently no picks are changing hands.

I don’t see why Atlanta does this to save $600k in payroll because Turner is worse than Bazemore.

Turner can be a primary ball handler, and maybe Atlanta is looking to have Trae play off ball sometimes, as well as use Turner as a backup PG.

I'd say that as overpaid SF's, these guys switching teams, they will likely be more effective on their new teams based on the current rosters and how they fit in. Good trade for both teams.

Maybe because he's a shooter to replace hood likely leaving?

Adrian Wojnarowski

Cap neutral deal for Blazers and Hawks. Portland acquires a wing in Bazemore who'll provide an insurance policy on free agent Rodney Hood. Hood's market value exceeds Portland's ability to keep him using the taxpayer MLE.

Really not sure why ATL would do this. A lot of their moves have been head scratching.

Why trade for evan turner to take the ball out of trae youngs hands? im not an expert on trae, but i would guess that he's more effective on the ball than off as a shooter in the corner.
