From a Will Guillory article today:

Since the end of the In-Season Tournament, New Orleans leads the NBA in defensive rating (108.3 points allowed per 100 possessions) while ranking first in opponent field goal percentage (44.5)

I know Willie gets a lot of hate but he deserves his flowers for this.

Somehow he got BI and Z to buy in on the defensive side. Mad props

I'll say this. Green currently has a lifetime record of 101-101 today and will more than likely have a winning percentage after the season with steady growth from year to year.
We give him a lot of flack due to our impatience and poor luck with this franchise but at the end of the day, he's getting results with steady progression and development from the team.
If he was hired in 2019 instead of 2021, I think we would have been a lot more patient with him.

Let’s go further back shall we?
For the last 28 games the Pelicans are:
1st in NET
1st in Defense
5th in Offense

Chuck, Shaq and the national media got Zion to buy in
BI hasn’t been he best defender but I feel his heart was in it at least

Zion actually trying on defense is a game changer for us.

It kind of makes me wish the team pushed Zion to play in last year’s play-in game.
The IST final was a real embarrassment for Zion. 39 year old Lebron was running wind sprints around him, and just humiliated him.
I wonder what the offseason might have looked like if a similar event played out last season in the play in game elimination. Sometimes, things need to be laid bare and not covered up.
