If you were to be in charge of putting together your ultimate setlist for a Tool show, what would it be? It has to be under or within 2hours, so keep that in mind.

I'll start:

1. Eulogy
2. Part of Me
3. The Pot
4. Parabol into Parabola
5. Pneuma
6. Pushit
7. Bottom
8. Jimmy
9. Wings for Marie into 10,000 days
10. 7empest
-intermission- Faaip De Oiad
-encore-
11. Flood
12. Prison Sex
13. Aenima
14. Lateralus
-end-

My thinking is to try and have the songs flow together like waves. Let the high energy songs weaving into the progressive ones and continue that pattern. Also I want to have a nice mix of all records.

I think Eulogy is a perfect opening son, just as Lateralus is the perfect closer. I love the idea of going from Eleven (anger at his mother's suffering) to 10.000 Days (the sendoff of his mother to heaven). Tempest just seems like a great, fun song to go into the intermission, and Flood is not only their best song (IMO) but is also such a perfect buildup into more high energy to be the transition from intermission to encore.

To me the encore should be their biggest hits and most fun songs. Prison Sex, Aenima and Lateralus fit this bill.

Curious how others would structure a show. I think this clocks in just about 122mins, but I did rough math.

I would throw Opiate somewhere in there....other than than that, sweet set! I love the vibe!! Having said that.....the common fan will be disappointed. No Sober, Forty six and 2, Stinkfist, etc...

With breaks, then, that's probably just under 150 - they really need 3 hours now and they're getting older and older.

I would try to fit in Aenema, 46 and 2, Invincible and Sober for sure.

I could do without Part of Me, Wings/10k, Flood and if necessary Tempest (which is roughly interchangeable with the title track from FI for me). I would almost prefer Hooker with a Penis over any of those.

Aenima - the entire album
Lateralus - the entire album
Fear Innoculum - the entire album
Prison Sex
Opiate
Right in two
Wings for Marie

This is in no particular order by the way. Just what I'd want to hear live. I probably left out a song or two. Of course some time dilation would be needed to fit this within 2 hours but relativity says it is possible so this setlist is legit.

Black Cadillacs
Wild Packs of Family Dogs
Doin' the Cockroach
Satin in a Coffin
Bukowski
Paper Thin Walls
Ocean Breathes Salty

It should either start or end with Third Eye.

Absolutely incredible live.

This was great live back on the Aenima tour. I agree there. That's the difficult part of putting together a Tool setlist; there are too many great songs to include.

I do have Aenima in there

I, for one, look forward to the day when I can catch Tool playing a 90 minute set consisting entirely of about 6 songs total which all sound exactly the same.

Add in No Quarter somewhere and it's perfect.

OP's setlist would be 18 hours long if Tool ever did it
