I was actually thinking a lot about this the other day. Good thread idea.

Like everyone has said it’s hard to pick just 5, and then I start debating what I consider the best albums versus those that are just my favorites or have sentimental value to me. I’ll go with the latter for this list.

Linkin Park-Live from Texas
311-self titled (blue album)
Metallica-self titled (black album)
Rage against the machine-Self titled
Incubus-morning view

shite this is hard lol

Couldn’t put in top 5 but just missed:

Tool-Lateralus
Alice In Chains-unplugged
Staind-break the cycle
Thrice-artist in the ambulance
Sevendust-Animosity
White stripes-elephant
Bullet For My Valentine-the poison
Of mice and men-restoring force

The Soft Machine- Volume Two
Traffic- Mr. Fantasy
Pink Floyd- Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Johnny Winter- Second Winter
Iggy & the Stooges- Raw Power

But so many albums I can include, in fact, my Top 25 could all be interchangeable for me as to a 'desert island' list.

The Village Green Preservation Society - The Kinks
Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys

It really pisses me off when I see these two on peoples' lists. I mean, they're good albums but top 5 or 10!? RVGPS wasn't even The Kinks best album and Pet Sounds, while solid, is still ultimately corny arse 60's pop music.

They're akin to The Wire. Great show? Absolutely. Best ever? Hell no.

Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here
Stevie Wonder Songs in the key of Life
Allman Brothers Eat A Peach
Van Morrison Moondance

The most well rounded list so far.

Turnover - Peripheral Vision (changed my view on music. Just great vibes throughout. “Cutting my Fingers off” fav track of all time.)

(Sandy) Alex G - House of Sugar (Almost added Race or Trick by Alex on here. Definitely my new fav artist. He may be #1 for me.)

Blink-182 - Self Titled (no skip)

Brand New - The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me (another no skip)

The Hotelier - Home, Like Noplace is There.

I can’t do a top five all time. It’s almost impossible because what I was jamming at 15, 25, and 35 is completely different.

For instance the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, and. Silver Chair were some of my favorite bands growing up. I haven’t heard Eddie Vedder sing a song since the early 2000’s.

And me in my mid sixty's . . .

Shady Grove - Garcia/Grisman
Court and Spark - Joni Mitchell
Waiting For Columbus (extra song version) - Little Feat
Last Waltz - The Band / Various / Band
Will The Circle Be Unbroken - The Nitty Gritty / Various Folk / Dirt Band

(in no order)

. . . am leaving out whole genre's and many the decade.
But these were one's I could throw on today and listen to twice through. Are double albums cheat'n?
