I've been rocking Amoeba's what's in my bag segment the past few days. Have discovered a ton of new music.

What about the MB?

This is probably not a huge revelation but I've found the most new music recently by looking up my favorite albums on Amazon and then scrolling through the "People who bought this title also bought:" section.

I am on their email list, and I use spotify to listen to the new releases each week that are emailed to me.

Rateyourmusic is far and away the best resource for music and hidden gems.

Agreed. Rateyourmusic is king.

If there's a genre I'm interested in exploring, you can search by the genre, click top releases, and it gives you a list of the highest rated albums of that genre. You can do the same for a specific year. It's just great.

1. This board
2. KLSU
3. Movies and tv shows. I often sit with a pen and pad as the credits roll waiting for the music licensees to scroll past.

Favorite: SXSW

There are so many bands that it is just easy to discover a band you like that you've never heard of. It happens every year for me. It's how I discovered Rubblebucket, Typhoon, Local Natives, and others, and they are some of my favorite bands now.

Most used: This board, other boards, Spotify discover.

I have to admit that Sirius XM helps.

But so does the related videos in Youtube. I discovered DUST, CLUTCH, and COMSTAT ANGELS via secondary sources from Youtube.

And Tigerdroppings Music Board.
