Acapella singers
Extremely talented. Learning vocal parts where the individual notes are so close to one another in the chord structure takes years to learn to do well.
The issue here is when i think of the voice as an instrument, i think about individuals taking years to develop their voices in order to hold notes and exhibit pitch and meter. When rap fans think about the voice as an instrument, they think of artists talking, mumbling, shouting in an almost rhythmic chant.
I have zero problems with rapping. While no one will ever convince me it takes as much practice to become a proficient rapper as a singer, my main criticism revolves around a part of the music industry built on the sampling of others work.

I don’t listen to Sinatra.
Think Steely Dan, Doobies, Little River Band, Boz Scaggs, Michael McDonald….
All artists who wrote and recorded their own music.
BTW, you’re really stretching here

Frick all the way off with this idiot shite.

EVERYBODY should listen to Sinatra. I grew up on everything from Motown to Stax to Funkadelic (who started with Motown BTW).
Now that I’m an old man, I listen to Sinatra, Ella, Bennett, and even Rosemary Clooney at least once a week. There’s nothing like listening to professional vocalists using pitch perfect phrasing.

There has never been a better time for the phrase “OK, Boomer”

Hate to spoil this for you but I'm not a boomer.....just a lowly musician.

Totally appreciate Frank and the musicians and producers behind it. My playlist runs the gamut.
From the Boogie Kings, to Earth Wind and Fire, Cameo and Prince to Ratt, Def and Zep, to Steely Dan, Journey, Boz Scaggs and even a little Loretta Lynn.

They don't make them like this anymore. Wu Tang is forever.

You must have grown up listening to AM radio like me. My mom was strictly Motown, dad was Memphis blues, and our home was 45 minutes away from Nashville. The first time my older cousin played Genesis, my 10 year old mind was blown. Then another cousin hit me with Bitches Brew. Less than 3 years later, I heard Kraftwerk for the first time and it was game over! If it’s music and sounds good, I’ve probably heard it

Nailed it.
My Father was a musician in Nashville and I lived with my Mom who kept the radio on all the time. We didn't even own a TV. The first songs I can really remember are Roberta Flack (Killing Me Softly) and Grand Funk (Locomotion). Around my Dad it was Chicago, Tower of Power and the Boogie Kings.
But I also listened to KISS, Nugent, ARS and Kansas, which turned into a like for groups like Saga, Rush and Lover Boy. In the end though my true love became harmony, regardless of whether it was vocal or musical.
Hence my love for Steely Dan, The Eagles, Little River Band, Beach Boys and just about anything pop/rock from 75-80.

One of these days I’ll figure out why Steely Dan is so polarizing. “Pretzel Logic” literally got me thru my divorce from my first wife. You’d think my coping track would be “Haitian Divorce”, but no, it’s Pretzel Logic!
My apologies for going off on this tangent, but I absolutely love talking Music! I will refocus on the Wu-Shaolin, promise

You consider that "playing" the piano?
Here's an observation from someone who has been playing piano for 50 years. This guy has never had a lesson in his life. He plays by ear, and therefore what he plays is shite he makes up. Yes, it would take him a fricking month to pick out Deacon Blues on the piano.
