BMTH - Nihilist Blues
I was hoping after "Medicine" that it was just a small sample. "Oh No" and "Follow You" off That's The Spirit were similar and that album came together nicely as Sykes is having to move in a different direction with his vocal issues. They did a good job revamping it.
Then "Mother Tongue" came out and it was "uh oh" time.
Now this garbage "Nihilist Blues" is the worst of the bunch.
This is really a bummer. There are so few new hard rock bands that exist today that are actually making waves in the mainstream towards "arena/amphitheater/headliner" status. Ghost and BMTH are the two that immediately come to mind. Most of the new mainstream "rock" music is soft alt rock or electronica garbage.

I had high hopes for this album after "Mantra" and "Wonderful Life". Looks like the album is going to be an electro pop album with a few screams here and there. Still looking forward to their show in Atlanta on Saturday though.

Oh, I'm going to see them in Ohio in May, and they are the band I'm looking forward to the most outside of System of a Down. I'm just really hoping we don't get setlists with 8 new songs and 3-4 songs off TTS and Semp and 3ish songs from before that.

Yeah...I'm...confused...
I get when bands want to evolve, but when you don't sound anything like what got you a following, just start a side project for this bullshite.

Last Night's Setlist
Looks like they're only playing 3 songs from Amo.
Agreed their new sound being a side project.

Yes they are going into a different direction, is it good? ehh i still need some time to take in the songs.
But i can say that they have come a long way with this album in a good way. Even though i miss the screams and the raw vocals, Ollie has shown how much he has developed on vocals. He destroyed his vocal so much that for the album Thats the Sprit, Jordan Fish vocals almost overtakes Ollies. Their vocals are basically combined to make 1 vocal. But now ollie sounds kinda good singing which shows on Mother Tongue.

This is just a male-fronted CHVRCHES at this point.

YEAH they released the album on YouTube and uhh it’s really bad. Their arc really reminds me of LP. Bust onto the scene with Sempiternal. Tone it down and polish it up a smidge with That’s The Spirit. release the most relatable single first off the newest album in “Wonderful Life”... just like “What I’ve Done” in Minutes to Midnight ... followed by a whole CD of WHAT THE frick IS THIS GARBAGE?! Much like Minutes, I don’t think I will ever find myself listening to amo front to back.
Why must my favorite bands just jump off cliffs and completely change their musical style? Frustrating as frick man. It’s not like they went in a different direction. I can handle that and enjoy that. Half the songs barely have any instruments in them on amo I mean wth.

Can you post a good Bring Me the Horizon song? I'm seriously wondering if I'm missing something in the songs I've heard.

This is the single I heard on Octane that got me into the band
Sleepwalking (off Sempiternal)
Couple more to try off Semp
Shadow Moses (off Sempiternal)
Can You Feel My Heart (off Sempiternal)
Little more mainstream feel/fun
Throne (off That's the Spirit)
Blasphemy (off That's The Spirit)

Mantra and the wonderful life grew on me and I really liked those two now. I was hoping those were the more commercial softer songs on the album and it wouldnt be so bad ...but just heard some of the newest songs and was like wtf as well. Damn shame

Listen to new underoath album, you won’t be disappointed

This is hilarious compared to the likes of For Stevie Wonder's Eyes Only from my high school years.

Got it on now man. Digging it. Thanks for the suggestion. On song 2, so let’s see where we go from here.

These are the songs that hooked me about 8 years ago. This band is now dead to me.
The Sadness Will Never End (feat. Sam Carter of Architects)
Blessed with a Curse
It Never Ends
Don't Go (feat. Lights)

Wonderful Life is catchy but didn’t interest me enough to listen to much of the other new stuff. I realized the days of “Pray for Plagues” aren’t coming back.
Count Your Blessings was my favorite album. I grew to like Sempiternal. Not sure about anything else.

Listening to quotes from these guys, it seems like they’re mostly done with making rock music. What a bummer. Seems like the keyboardist Jordan is the driving force behind this change. frick that guy
