Jimi was an extremely talented creator as well as a performer. And I don’t just mean his guitar work.

He was extremely colorful to the point where he would have gotten noticed one way or another. The kind of stuff that would go viral on YouTube or other platforms if her got it uploaded.

Jimi was once asked in an interview who HE thought the greatest guitarists were. His response:

"If you think I'm good, you need to check out that big white boy who plays for Chicago (Terry Kath). He's even better than I am."

Gary Clark Jr would have been my pick for comparison too.

While is respected as a musician and has fans, he isn't a household name. Which is the expectation for Jimi Hendrix.

Which genre? Blues, rap, hip hop, country, jam band, house, rock and roll which genre do you want to debate?

I listen to all music all the way from zydeco and folk, blues from the 30s to your hip hop, and blue grass of today.

Mother frickers in The Who are 80 years old and still rocking and rolling and Jimi is 1000x the musician they are. This is just incorrect.

i get every rock album released 1960-1979 (60' & 70's)

You can use any and every genre that you wish. I just want to see this list of classic albums that have came out since 1997.

Jimi made a lot of noise on the guitar and I even enjoy a good bit of it. But as far as a technical guitar player, I don’t know if he was all that great. There’s probably a hundred better players in the music industry today and you don’t even know their names because they are session players and side men.

legend also has it that he was once asked how it felt to be the greatest guitarist in the world, and he responded “I don’t know, go ask Rory Gallagher”

Classic albums like the eagles type music you hear on yacht rock radio? That might be tough. Very difficult to find an album where every song is 4 chords.

My favorite guitar players aren't neccessarily great technical guitarists. Jonny Greenwood for example. Lots of people can shred, but not many people can make their guitar sound like an alien transmission. That's what gets me off.

it's going to be a while before i get all the way down to The Eagles, so if that's the high mark you're aiming for, you may not want to play this game.

Nobody asked for a list of albums that only contain 4 chords. I hate the Eagles but yeah, they released some albums that are considered classic....way before 1997, though. So you're going to have to find some other bands.

I agree with him, studio time and making records was so expensive back then artists who would see a return were like gold. Now anybody can make a tune in their bedroom. And it’s easier to make something new that sucks versus new that’s extraordinary. Hence the musical fall to shite like WAP.
