Would Jim Morrison have ever rejoined The Doors if he had lived?

I know The Doors made an album or two after his death (which were nothing like before obviously).

Uh, yeah, he had left. The LA Woman album is his goodbye.

Would he have ever gone back? Impossible to say. If he had every conquered his alcoholism, there's no telling what he might have done when he got his head back on straighter.

Like all alcoholics, he thought changing his scenery would make his problems go away, but they always bring them wherever they go. The people that talked to him most near the end got the sense that Paris wasn't the new beginning he expected.

Jim was planning on coming back to the states to rejoin the doors for a tour. They were even going to have a live bassist with them that that loved.

He would have certainly rejoined if he found out Ian Astbury was replacing him.

He was 27. He would have crept into his 30’s as the world was moving on to 70’s soft rock and acoustic. The Gordon Lightfoots and Jim Croce’s of the world.

Could the Doors have evolved into that? The Beatles just broke up and left a hole. The Stones could play anything to stay relevant to dominant.

I think the shooting star metaphor applies. He burned bright but his light was spent. Maybe he knew that, maybe he was just a horrendous alcoholic, maybe he was becoming a junkie? Didn’t he overdose on heroin?

If he would have rejoined them, it probably is a shitshow.
