Will music videos ever make a comeback?

I know that migration to the Internet and the decision by MTV to sell their soul to Lucifer really hurt the business. I find myself rarely watching MV's on YouTube unless it's an arfist I really follow. Are MV's dead in the water? Can a channel like Palladia revive them? Is it even worth the money to invest in a MV?

Youtube and Social Media really killed music vids on television.
I remember the good old days of actual MTV vids, The Box, MTV 2, etc. etc.

I don't see why MV's would make a comeback on TV. I do like what AXS Network is doing by showing the live concerts, though.

I don't know why but I never really saw the appeal of music videos. At first they were sort of a novelty but after about 1983 I hardly ever watched one.

Seriously, who actually watches/watches music videos? The idea of them is ridiculous to me.
At no point in my life have I wanted to listen to music and watch TV at the same time.

There have been some really good music videos that gel together wonderfully.

I think a good music video can add a lot to a song, and make it better. It really sucks that they are not on tv anymore.

They will never come back to TV, but bands will still produce them, but just because they want to. It used to be more of a requirement for big bands to do these videos to help promote themselves. Music videos will still serve as a way to promote a band as well, but not at all close to as effective as it once was.
Music videos are great to have on the background at parties. Youtube is great for this in that you can build your own playlist.

Think of the cost to make a music video and the benefit of doing so. Financially they just don't make much sense given the changes in the music industry.
