Great question. Lots of people have bad taste in music is most likely the answer. 311 is a band that should have an expiration date of "when you graduate from high school".

BR was one of their first big markets because they played a FREE show at the Varsity in the early 90's and it was packed with chicks (the drummer ended up marrying a girl from the area or at least taking her to LA) .... and as a you know when you have a room full of chicks a bunch of dudes followed and there was born the 311 mystique ..... that mixed with their accessible white guy Suburban Dance Squad jams it has passed down over the years through the malleable cheesy taste of most folks

311 day in 2004 in NO was amazing! I have seen them about 8 times but that show was one of the best concerts I have ever been to.
