I can think of two out right now that do. Who the frick mixes tapes anymore. Who even uses tapes anymore?

I hate new country btw, or what they call country, but I hear it at work a lot.

Why doesn't the Mona Lisa smile?

It's not our place to question genius bro.

I'm 33. What does that have to do with it? Why sing about outdated technology?

Maybe they are talking about their childhood....sort of like how you'd talk about an old girlfriend, an old bar, or 8-track tape.

I could spend hours breaking down the shittiness of today's country music lyrings, but this actually makes a ton of sense for the current country music fanbase. They are the lowest common denominator of the white race. After stocking up on Milwaukee's Best, a tank of gas, some cut off shirts and jeans, and some Skoal, they probably can't afford anything more than cassette tapes.

country music sucks now days. Sturgill Simpson and jamey Johnson are the only country artist I've heard in years.

And that's fine but it ain't country. They should just call it Nashville Pop country.

Posters in this thread totally missed the point of the thread.

It has nothing to do with rap, whether country is country anymore, whether country sucks or not... we all know country ain't country no more... Travis Tritt wrote a song about it.

It has to do with using the term mixed tapes. Nobody makes tapes of several different songs from different artists anymore... and no one uses that term anymore... people say playlist...

I tell my buddy, "hey... will you make a playlist for us to listen to tonight..." not "hey, will you make a mixed tape for us to listen to tonight". If people actually still used the term, like when commercials say "tune in" tonight for such and such tv show... fine.

But no one makes mixed tapes, or tapes in general, or says mixed tape. It's fricking dumb.
