Its wild to me how someone these days can go from virtually unknown, hardly even played any bars or anything like that, to immediately one of the most popular singers in country, playing the biggest venues. Pretty damn cool. What a time to be alive.

Like I said, the first song off his new album is him strumming a C note and talking for 90 seconds

Just listened to it… Fear and Friday’s is the name… almost like the album Ryan Bingham wrote Fear and Saturday Night…. Dude’s making a killing off yups I bet.

It’s like if Mumford and sons fricked The Lumineers and had a son … and mid-grade Tyler Childers fricked some generic bro country artist and they had a daughter… and that son and daughter fricked and had a kid… ZB would be that kid.

I just listened to the guy for the first time.
He's a helluva good writer.

just don't see how this guy is considered so much better than Isbell, Sturgill and Stapleton all of a sudden. I think those guys can sing him out of the building.

There’s a lot more to an artist than pure singing ability. In fact, I would say ability isn’t even the largest factor. In fact, being too clean with singing is strangely kind of a turn off.

Writing, story telling, creating a visual that people relate to is probably only matched by the catchiness of the song in why a song is successful in terms of popularity IMO.

Him and Childers are great writers.

Sounds like you listened to the poem Fear and Fridays, which is the first track.

There is the song Fear & Fridays on another track

It's the writing and the perceived passion in his singing. He actually seems to have put a lot more work into his guitar playing, and other instruments I'm sure, I think he gets hate because he has transcended red dirt to a degree. Anybody making non Nashville country and it sounding good, I can't be mad at.

if he wasn't being played on mainstream country media and selling out major venues and only playing theatres
most of the guys bashing him on this board would be sucking his dick

that's nonsense tbh. I haven't cared for his music from the very start and never understood the OVERWHELMING hype of this dude.

I don't get Zach Bryan at all.

In theory I should love him. Big fan of Childers, Sturgill, Isbell, Troubadors, etc...On paper, I should really enjoy Zach Bryan.

I think his stuff is super average. I'm not gonna change the song if Spotify plays it, but would never seek it out.

That’s not surprising at at all since you’re the most pretentious music snob on this board
