Who do you think was more talented? Who do you find the more enjoyable lead singer to listen to?

For me it's definitely Cornell. He had the greatest voice of his generation and an all-time rock voice.

It's such a classic discussion, because I fully and wholeheartedly believe Layne was the voice of grunge. But I truly respect everyone else's opinion on the issue.

Both were arguably the best rock voices of the 90s but I got to go with Cornell as having a bit more range then stayley. Both are my favorites tho.

I think Cornell had the better voice but I prefer the lyrics and music of AIC.

I’d definitely go with Cornell.

While Stayley was good, Cantrell made AIC great.

That's like asking me to choose among my children.

I like AIC better than Soundgarden. The singers are almost too close to call - if I have to pick, Cornell by a nose(and I have both ahead of Weiland and Vedder, in case anybody is asking) - but it is really a 1a and 1b situation with me.

Of course, only 1 of those cats is still alive, so there is all of that.

Another for liking AIC as a band more, but I could listen to Cornell sing the ABCs and be happy. His voice was amazing.

Some of you hit it right on the head...
I love AIC and like them more as a band than SG. To me Laynes voice is so iconic BUT Chris had so much range and precision that it’s hard not to say he was more talented.

Both deserve to be in the HOF
