John Fogerty replacing his brother Tom as the lead singer of The Golliwogs, aka Creedence Clearwater Revival

Though they actually had very similar-sounding voices

My choices have already been posted, so unless I missed it, I'll say Buckingham and Nicks.

Lol, Selling England by the Pound, Nursery Cryme, Lamb Lies down on Broadway were far better lyrically and musically than the crap with Collins singing by a mile. Collins belongs behind a drum set.

Far be it for me to tell you how to start threads but for what you were trying to accomplish the OP is an unmitigated disaster, which I’m sure is the reason for the downvotes.

The title appears to be asking a general question but then it turns out you’re comparing just two bands. Also, the word choice would be “better” instead of “best” if only speaking of two bands. Just that word change alone would have provided a hint that it would be about two specific bands.

Just providing some insight in case you’re wondering why the downvotes.

Oh and I agree with McDonald and The Doobies. Van Hagar sucked shite.

Generally speaking, the answer is Bruce Dickinson.

I'm going way back, when Justin Hayward replaced Denny Laine in the moody blues.

I want to play but I’m not real interested in your choices. It’s Dickinson and it’s not close. The success speaks for itself. Brian Johnson and Dio are definitely in the conversation, and if anyone even cares about Pantera before Anselmo then I would include him too.

I get a TON of shite for saying this, but William Duvall being the lead for AIC. AIC is still my top five of favorite bands ever. Yeah, LS was a "god" of that genre, but the addition of Duvall has made AIC solid. He's great in harmony with Cantrell, he can play guitar, and on top of it, he's not a junkie.

I still stand by The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here as their most complete album, Dirt being a very close second. Their new one is solid too. Looking forward to more coming from them with Duvall as a contributor.

Magpie Salute is the new Black Crowes. Yes, Chris Robinson has an awesome voice & they were incredible. But, his ego kept them cancelling/breaking up & there had to be a change. Forget the "money grab tour" Rich & Chris were going to do this year..I took 10yo daughter in 17 to House of Blues in Dallas - awesome time had by all!

Magpie Salute - Omission

Magpie Salute - Twice as Hard
