When would you consider the cut off for the "Classic Rock" genre is?

Or is there one? Listening to 98.1, every now and then they will throw some early 90s stuff on there: i.e. Black Crowes, Stone Temple Pilots.
Being born in the 80s, this make even ME feel old
Would you consider "Classic Rock" to be more of a style of music or music from a time period? If the latter, when would you consider the cut off date to be?

Dan Day has been at 98.1 since 104 the x went off the air. I think they're letting him do some late night programming.

Correct. Once 104 the X went under, the decided to do "Eagle Night Flights" where they will rotate in some 90/early 2000 stuff to appease the younger audiences that listen later at night
they still do strictly classic during the day though
it will be interesting to see how "classic rock" evolves in the future

wouldn't it move just about every year? i would think it would. 1960-198whatever can't be classic rock forever. soon it's going to be classical music
i'd say anything about 15 years ago or more would be "classic" rock by now. i've heard 98.1 playing some RHCP from the mid 90s before.

I consider it to be kind of a sliding era that begins about 20 years in the past and goes back about another 25 years. Say 1967-1992.

That seems to be a pretty good explanation of the current lineup on the radio stations.
