WLCS Baton Rouge, DJ Kawalski

I remember that dude very well. Great rock DJ. He was pretty opinionated especially about his distaste for the DA Ossie Brown. He kind of disappeared. Wondered what ever happened to him.

Anybody remember the King Biscuit Flour Hour?
--

I was a DJ back in the early 70's and we'd get two tape reels in with KBFH. We'd cue them up for Saturday night.

Great music. Then we'd have to ship them back.

I grew up with 101 KLOL and 97 ROCK. KLOL sold out and went Tejano. Not really sure what happened to ROCK. They had a decent morning show.

Both were Houston stations. They were both classic rock/rock/metal stations.

It was that and waiting for Headbangers Ball on MTV.

Yes
It was a small window in time when you had a dual cassette player, and you were young with no real money

Atlanta had 96rock which was a pretty kickass station back in the day. This was a kind of iconic logo locally back then

This was my younger days - Rock Line, Red Beard, Two-for-Tuesday, Living Room Concerts. I still have my Q Card that I used for discounts at Sound Warehouse

I was a teen in the 50s and some of my favorite stations:

WIKC, Bogalusa (for a small town, 250 watt station, they played some great music.

WNOE, New Orleans - music all day

WLAC, Nashville - night time R&B.

For me, it was WTIX up until about 15 yrs. old. Then after that WTUL.
Also, I loved the King Biscuit Flower Hour, The National Lampoon Radio Hour and Dr.Dimento on Sunday night! Great times..

I remember when the Mean Green got shot one night.
Told my buddy "That's what happens when you don't play requests".

WLS radio out of Chicago was tgoat in the 70's.

I remember watching rock concert and midnight special.
And soul train too.

Wish I could watch the re-runs.

The greatest and best station I ever heard in my life was 107.1 FM The STORM; Apache Junction, Arizona with Andy Olson and Jeff Parots. Jeff later had the nationally syndicated "Acoustical Storm"
