What year? How old were you?

Also with the advent of digital download, when is last time you bought a music CD?

I bought my first CD in 1983, was a sophomore in HS. Rush - Moving Pictures. I actually had to go to Atlanta to get it as the local music stores did not yet carry them. I think I paid $25 for that first CD.

I still buy CDs as well. I rip all of them to have them digitally, but like having them physically as well.

1990 Sophomore in HS. I joined the craze a little late since I had to buy stuff like that with my own money.

The same for me. I worked 30 hours a week in addition to school and sports to pay for my own stuff. I bought my first CD Player for $550 in 1983. But it seemed worth it, since it had only been out for less than a year at the time.

Now, my music is "Burned" onto Cds. The old stand-bys - Dylan, Beatles, Stones, etc.

That's where I'm behind the times. I'm about 80% of the way through ripping them all finally and am finding some great stuff I haven't listened to for more than a decade. I'm up to about 30 GB on the hard drive now. Should have done this a long time ago.

1987 or 1988, it was a Zappa/Mothers twofer, I was around 29 or 30. I had (still have) a large vinyl collection, so I was late to the game. Today, I still buy CD's, I am not much on down loading, I still believe in the 'old school' way of a band goes into the studio & records an album worth of music. Although most of what I buy is old stuff remastered with extra tracks.

First one I bought myself. Got 20 bucks for mowing the lawn and taking out the trash. I was 11 when I bought it.

It took me a long time to rip all of mine. I have about 520GB of music in my library now (about 80,000 songs).

Wow that was really cheap for that time. I don't remember ever paying that little for new CD until the early 90s.
