This topic comes up multiple times a week. After thinking it over on a few occasions I think there is a solid argument either Tim McGraw or Kenny Chesney actually started the "bro country" movement; not Garth.

The answer is Keith Urban.

Love Him!

Guys, heading back to green bay this weekend to take ma golfing and Tim mcgraw is in town Friday night. That's a big deal for geebs. Just dropped 109 a piece for two. I admit it. I love Tim, Kenny, Keith, etc. But especially darius and zac. If that's bro country and loving it is wrong, well, guilty.

No. Brad Paisley is corny on purpose. He’s kinda a country parody/comedy act (actually has a decent standup special on netflix) who also happens to be the best guitar picker in Nashville at the moment. Dude is crazy good at that rockabilly quick picking guitar. I don’t know of anyone else alive who can play that style as good as he can.

I think we're just about passed peak bro-country and the trend will soon shift to something else. I think we're about to see about 15 Chris Stapleton clones suddenly become the next "big thing".

If there are even 5 guys that can emulate Stapleton then country music will change for the much much better. Hope you’re right.

All country sucks. No need to subcategorize it.
