Guessing that the general decline of rock music has led to the correlating decline of women in rock music.

Grace Potter's record company is absolutely hell bent on turning her into some kind of Taylor Swift/Katy Perry clone.

Paramore, Halestorm, Evanescne, Nico Vega, Icon For Hire, The Pretty Reckless. I mean they're out there but most are just not nearly as popular as they used to be

In the 80's many female singers appealed to the adolescent/young adult type of rock. That entire demographic has been pulled away by pop country, pop and hip hop.

Saw them live when they opened for Hollywood Undead, they're certainly different.

There is plenty of good music out there. What sucks are the local rock radio stations around Baton Rouge.

Maria Brink - In This Moment
Christna Scabbia - Lacuna Coil
Taylor Momsen - The Pretty Reckless
Lzzy Hale - Halestorm
Lacey Sturm (formerly of Flyleaf)

There are also a shite ton of female fronted metal bands.
