That's cool! I remember my mom knocking on the door saying "What the hell are you listening to?"

Thanks for not giving me as much grief as I'm giving myself. Thankfully, my taste has improved a bit.

Surfer Joe by the Surfaris, 1963. Paid maybe $1.49 for it, 'cause the single was a #1.

Allman Brothers "Live at Fillmore East" bought in 1972. I think since it was a double album it was around $4.97, single LPs were around $3.00 if I remember correctly, not as cheap as it sounds, was only making about 15 bucks a week job and allowance combined, minimum wage was $1.25 then.

I am pretty sure that the first album I bought myself was Radiohead Ok Computer.

First one that I ever owned was Garth Brooks - No Fences, was probably 7, my Grandmother got it for me.

At the time, We had never heard anything sound remotely like those two.

Yep, as I posted in the "Beaker Street" thread, one night I found Beaker Street from KAAY Little Rock on my bedside AM radio (tube type), they played the full 20 minute side of "Whipping Post", I was a guitar picker and had never heard anything like it. The next day I took all my money and bought a cheap stereo and the LP.
