I've never seen or heard of the show Miami Vice but I figured, what the hell? It sounds 80's enough to me

I was kidding about Miami Vice though. Even though I was still just a kid, that show was one of the first ones I ever remember watching. When I think 80's, that show always comes to mind.

When I think of 80s videos that capture all the over the top cheesiness of 80s music and videos, the few that immediately spring to mind are:

Aha- Take on Me

Dire Straits- Money for Nothing

Genesis- Land of Confusion

Van Halen- Hot for Teacher

Buggles - Video killed the radio star

Though it was released in '79, it will forever be remembered with the birth of MTV. Remember those first days well.

Go West - King of Wishful Thinking

1990, featured in Pretty Woman

To me, it's a mind-bogglingly rich distillation of all things 80's musically and cultually.
