and they're simply actor/musicians . . . meh, for the most part.
I might check out one or two for fun, but I think the entire culture including the fans is a little weird. But to each his own.

Experience Hendrix
I went and saw this a couple of months ago and it was awesome. Obviously Hendrix is dead, but look at the list of who played in it and you'll understand why it was so good.
Not a tribute band (which I find strange) but this was killer.

I couldnt be bothered by going to see one...
That said, I did enjoy Elvez years ago, but he puts the whole mexican twist on it that makes it not a straight tribute act...
En El Barrio
I dont even know if all the songs were Elvis'

The best tribute band I've ever seen was The Long Beach Dub All Stars. But that was kind of cheating, since it was basically Sublime minus Brad.

It seems like a waste of money to me. Especially if the real band is still around.
The main reason people, like myself, like going to see tribute bands is because we weren't lucky enough to be born back when the real band was around, and in their prime.

I'm not generally a big fan of cover bands, but ZOSO put on a good show.
This. Seen them 4 times and it never gets old.

I was gonna start a beastie boys tribute band like 4 years ago. It's a ton of work

Jesus...
The old "my way is better than your way" schtick. I have seen tribute bands that were fun, and have seen cover bands that were fun and love live music. It's a different experience, but good lord, the self proclaimed music snobs are out of touch with reality.
Are you there to listen to music and have fun or are you there to say you went to see a popular act? Most covers/tributes play bars and clubs and it's not a real concert, its a different experience.
