For me, it's Tin Pan Alley (SRV) . The mixing is excellent and the guitar is just sublime.

Superstition

Starts out with a clear opportunity to examine your highs and tight drum notes, then drops into the clavinet and bass for lower notes. Vocals are also very clean. Plus it's a fricking awesome song.

John Butler Trio - Better Than

Has a great mix of highs, mids and lows to allow accuracy of discerning the sounds. There's some great strumming in there that is very difficult to hear without accurate mids. I used this 8 years ago when testing for my speakers, and ultimately I settled on the paradigm reference studio 60 v5. For my price range these speakers made this song really shine, and comparing it to other speakers I noticed just how much I missed hearing it.

I've also found that Cross Eyed Mary is fantastic for giving a whole system a work out

Steely Dan - Gaucho

Reportedly one of the most grueling studio recordings of all time. Took 2 years to record with 42 different musicians. Steely Dan was crazy in trying to find a specific sound, and the mixing on the albums is always crazy good. This is the most perfectionist album of one of the most perfectionist bands of all time.

And it's just a badass album

Gaucho is indeed an awesome album.

My go to Steely Dan track is Gaslighting Abbie from Two Against Nature
