He is often grouped in with some of the pop country crowd.

I tend to be a fan. I think he is an authentic mix of country and rock.

I'm not a fan of modern country, but what I have heard from him I have always liked. He reminds me of 80's country with a modern touch.

I'm a fan. I lean way more toward Red Dirt/Texas Country, but he is one of my faves out of Nashville.

He's a mixed bag. Some of it feels like he's trying too hard to be Johnny Cash, but he has a lot of good songs as well.

I like "Round Here Buzz", "Mister Misunderstood", "Mistress Named Music", "Cold One", and "Knives of New Orleans"

Imagine there's a line

Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia line reside on the far left and Colter Wall is on the far right. The underlined section is where I'd put Eric Church. I like him, but some of his stuff very much flirts with pop bullshite

Speaking of Colter Wall, I assume most here are familiar with country and know who he is, but if not go ahead and give the brewery sessions a listen

It depends song by song for me.

Drink in my hand and Springsteen are more pop.

My favorite are Record Year and Higher Wire.

Sinners like me is a great song imo, but yea I agree. It's why as an artist I put him right there in the middle. He's got some real, authentic stuff and then some panhandle pop

I saw him perform on some awards show once and couldn't get to my remote quick enough to change the channel.

Why's he got to wear the sunglasses on stage all the time? cmon man.

I like his first couple albums but then he seemed to try to be someone he was not, flirted with pop country, then heavy country with thick bass lines, then back to traditional country, then gave that terrible rolling stone interview.

He's like tim McGraw and toby keith. For every 1 good song he puts out, he'll put out 2 wtf were you thinking songs.

Not crazy about some songs that he does, but there are some that I really, really like.

I don't know much about him. Does anybody know how much of his stuff that he writes himself?

Pretty sure he writes/co-writes most his stuff. I think his Mr Misunderstood album was written by him in like a month and released.

I can listen to his albums beginning to end, and some of his better stuff never gets cut as a single IMO. Drowning Man off his last album being one example.

He says his eyes are really light sensitive and dry. Stage lights would frick up his contacts. So someone told him to wear sunglasses and it helped. And now he’s never taken them off lol.
