Learning my instrument now, and trying to find others for my band. My goal is pretty low. I want to play a show at Freds, Ivars, and the Moon ( when it opens)

Does anyone have a realistic path? and where can i meet other musicians. the guitarist doesnt seem committed and doesnt even return my texts.

The music i wanna cover: RHCP, Jet, AFI, Nothing but thieves

you're not going to get booked at freds ivars or the spanish moon playing RHCP,Jet, AFI, and nothing but thieves songs for varying reasons.

This is one of the most bizarre goals I've ever heard from an aspiring musician.

Judging by your posts, it's likely that no one will return your texts, especially Mark Friole.

why? i respect but dont like Neutral Snap. They play the same stuff i want to.

I got Covid, cant go to Oklahoma now. Or back to Florida

I mean, Freds has hot girls. who wouldnt want to play there . I dont like the vibe, management, and wont ever go there as a regular patron tho. same for ivars

Tryouts are Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. Be there on time with all band members and prepared to play three representative songs.

Bro. This is a terrible troll. Not only will you never get a gig here because you don't even have a band and are just learning your instrument, you don't even know who the owner is and he doesn't just book random arse dudes.

ETA: If anyone wants a real answer it's join a group that already has the connection. Or be in a decent band that can keep the crowd

Jet songs are easy to play, fun, and relatively well known. Not a bad idea if your singer has the vocal chops to do it. Throw in a couple killers songs and a handful of common 90’s pop rock covers and you’re set.

Ive played upright bass in school. Learning electric now. My problem is finding RELIABLE and COMMITTED musicians who will listen to me.

Id rather find people i can mold then try to get into a known band like Werewolf. Also, the only bands that play round there are Snap and Parish Country line.

my band was supposed to bring new blood. Hell, get a keyoard and ven bring some edm rock fusion into the mix

Wouldnt i just email? he doesnt have to pay us
