What are things you like/dislike about a certain brand or particular guitar?

Just little things, can just be aesthetic or whatever.

I hate the look of a cutaway, I will never own one

I love the simplicity of a Martin headstock, particularly a slotted Martin headstock

I like how Martin doesn't put stickers in the soundhole of their "good" guitars

I like a satin "matte" finish as opposed to a gloss.

This is a hit or miss with me.

For the most part, I agree with you, but some guitars pop with the right glossy - and it needs to be the right color, too (Strats and SGs notably).

On electrics, I dig the look of triple humbuckers.

Angular looks on guitar are hit and miss with me, as well - I'm not a particular fan of the Flying Vee for example, but I do like the Explorer/Destroyer looks from the early 80s.

Definitely, I have an Martin and a Partcaster that are glossy that is great, I just prefer to "feel the wood."

Most electrics look better with a gloss finish though.

I'm actually have a dreadnought custom built with a matte finish and a slotted headstock, solid rosewood back and sides which is what led to me to think about these things.

Really excited to see how it turns out.

I don't care for the look of really angular designs, like flying Vs, or similar ones. I never pick them up to try. If I were to play one, and it played like a champ and sounded like I want, I might change my mind really quick.
Guitars are kind of like women, I never wanted to completely rule any of them out, ahead of time. I mean, you never know what the future holds, life is full of surprises.

And that's another thing - dreadnaught is just so ubiquitous, I get turned off by the shape at times. With most brands, I'm going to prefer the look of the Jumbo almost every time.

I don’t find the look of PRS guitars pleasing at all. I don’t like the shape of the headstock, the colors they usually come in, the bird inlays, and the mirrored wood grain.

I’ve also never been a fan of black or burst colored acoustics.

And I prefer Les Paul’s with the pick guard.

I like a well done burst, not really into black though.

My little Simon & Patrick Parlor guitar is a high gloss sunburst with the black around the outside part of the top. I really don't like the way it looks, and it shows up really bad, every time you touch it. Damn thing plays and sounds incredible though, screw how it looks.

while I love that distinctive Martin sound, I have trouble singing over that boom. So I rarely play my Martin.

I’m still waiting for that 000-28 and identical blonde triplets.

Which model? I've had several mid level Martins at different times.

I hate Gibson’s. They’re expensive, heavy, play chunky even with short scales, and are not visually pleasing to me.

I have an LTD Les Paul style that is 1/3 the price and plays circles around it at half the weight.

SGs might be my least favorite guitar of all time.

I also don’t get the love of Martin and why they’re so special but I’ll defer bc Not an acoustic player.

This is why it’s all subjective, the posted who dissed PRS might as well be from another planet in my mind. Only gripe I have with PRS is their propensity for the lacquered necks.

SG is terrible. Way too thin, neck dives, feels cheap. Sounds good, though.

I love the Strat design, comfortable, curvy, modular, but that volume knob is exactly where my pinky wants to be.
