What are some good Rush albums?

I'm not the typical Rush fan but anything pre-Moving Pictures, besides their first album is going to have the same prog feel. I like Hemispheres. But you can't go wrong any of the others. Fly by Night, 2112, caress of steel, permanent waves, a farewell to kings.

their 80's stuff has a lot more synthesizers but I actually enjoy Hold Your Fire, Presto, Roll the bones.

This. One of my very favorite live albums. The DVD of the same name is also pretty damn awesome. It's on Netflix.

Other than what others have already mentioned, as far as post-Moving Pictures, I'd have to say that Vapor Trails is one incredibly strong album. It just kicks arse. Also, their last two, the all covers 'Feedback' and the all new music "Clockwork Angels" are very good. They've stayed on my phone since they've come out.

To add something different from everyone else, I actually enjoy Snakes & Arrows. Less prog sound, but IMO it's put together well with some good songs in there

I enjoyed Counterparts as well

I really enjoy their debut album, Hemispheres and Permanent Waves

I'm partial to Moving Pictures, as well

Some of their later stuff had a good song here and there, but nothing really awesome, or consistent. Prior to and including most of Permanent Waves was great.

No. I like it and one of my favorite tunes is off that album. Where's my Thing(part IV to the Gangster of Boats triology). The song title itself is great.
