Immediately on hearing the opening guitar bars of this song on the "Twilight Time" album of saxophonist Bennie Wallace, I knew who was playing it. If you are a guitar fan you should be able to name the guitarist in eight, no...five notes. And the rollicking piano is by some guy named Mac Rebennack...I wonder who he is?

Also comes to mind that Sir Paul McCartney played on some of the Badfinger songs.

George Jones on Barbara Mandrell's "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool"

I saw Jerry Reed tell the story how Elvis was in studio trying to cut a cover of Jerry's recent release "U.S. Male". No one could replicate his guitar work, so the call went out to Reed himself and he tore arse down to the studio to meet the King and play guitar on a cover of his own song.
