Wah pedals produce the best guitar tone.

Anyone else a big fan of Wah? Eric and Jimi obviously produced some of the best guitar playing using that tech. Wish it didn’t have such a short peak.
ETA: I know it has a strong connection to psychedelic rock, but I wish it had been used and expanded beyond that in “popular” music.

If it fits the piece, sure.
What are you thoughts on things like Rick Wright's use of a wah with a keyboard in Pink Floyd's Money?

Honestly, I wouldn’t be able to tell what effects are being used on keyboard. This is about guitar though. I’m just an intermediate guitarist so I’m sure someone else with more knowledge of music could comment on that.
ETA: Obviously this is just an opinion on what I’ve heard since “paying attention” to music. I like the wavering sounds I hear from guitarists using the effect.

I like it in small doses. I am not a big fan of almost always on wah.

Kirk Hammett would like a word.

ISWYDT.
Pro Tip -- reverse the input and output, mess with the tone knob, and you can make the whale sounds from Pink Floyd's Echoes. Or so I'm told, I never got it to work.
Wah is great when used sparingly. I prefer the Crybaby sweep to the Vox but it's all personal taste.

This is about guitar though.
Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains) uses a lot of wah, if you want someone in the post-1960s/70s era.

I think wah is excellent for solos, but unless you’re playing funk, it’s not really an always on effect. I often times use phaser instead of wah for solos just to save space and weight on my board.

Crybaby and Vox examples are cool, but if you want to really expand the wah pallet, check out Geoffrey Teese's variety of wahs. I have an old RMC2 ("Real McCoy Custom," as in Clyde McCoy) I've had forever now. It has not only a killer tone but knobs to control boost when engaged; the sweep/range of the effect (narrow to wide); and the "Q" point within the treadle sweep, to put the "schwa" of the tone towards the front of your rocking, the back of your rocking, wherever it feels best to your foot.
And my auto-wah/envelope filter of choice is a Boss T-Wah from 1982. Their version of a hard to find and very expensive MXR classic.

MXRs are beasts.
My dad collects and repairs them

That RMC2 sounds a lot like the Dunlop 535Q I have, probably not nearly as nice though

I haven’t used a wah pedal in many years but I still keep a Q tron around if I’m feeling funky

hard to go wrong with a phase 90. It just gets the job done

My favorite wah player is John Frusciante. He uses an Ibanez WH-10 and I believe he runs it after his Distortion pedal. It really screams. Sounds unique and awesome!
