Heading to his show tonight at the newly renovated Asbury Lanes. It’s a small venue, but extremely nice. I love his music, but never had the chance to see him live. Anybody seen him live yet?

He was great the only time I saw him. He usually tells one little joke with a very dry sense of humor between songs, and his performance was great. Sounds just as good live, if not better, than on his albums.

I thought about going to the show but it just didnt work out. I was in asbury on Thursday at the stone pony for Chris Robinson. I love the pony, but its hot as hell in there.

Saw him at Hogs for the Cause in NOLA last Spring. Great show. If you like his music, it’s a good watch.

What did you think of the venue?
I personally miss the old Lanes, and the old bar that was in there, but I have a soft spot for shite hole places.
I was at the grand opening night at the Lanes when Portugal the Man played and the Tangiers Blues Band opened and Springsteen popped up for a few songs, and will be catching a few shows there later this summer.
I like the fact that is is relatively small, like 700? And they get better acts as a whole compared to the generally same acts that the Pony has every summer, especially on the outside stage.
And this town was a total shite show Sunday, the tattoo convention, the show at the Lanes, Slightly Stoopid at the Pony outside, Sunday was the busiest I have seen Asbury other than the 4th of July

Can’t compare since I never went to the original, but it was an awesome place to see a show like Childers. Sound was great. Drinks were quick and easy. You could maneuver around the stage to your preference. Like someone mentioned above, he sounded better than he does on the album. Makes me think he recorded in like one take.Overall, great experience.

Well the send wasn't great in the old place and the stage was set up on top of the bowling alleys. It was typically punk shows but I did see JD McPherson there as well as Eric Lindell.
IStar sunk a ton of money into the place and probably could have just as easily torn it down, either way I am glad there is another venue here in town

Saw Childers twice a couple of weeks ago in Dallas and in Helotes at Floores.
Great shows, crazy how much he’s blown up over the last 2-3 years.

Me too. Awesome show. We had backstage passes. Drank beer and whatnot with Tyler and his crazy arse drummer after their show, during the Turnpike show. Was quite the experience.

Seen him three times this year.
If you have a good crowd you’ll have a great show.
