Been to three. You will enjoy.

I've been once. It is a pretty cool show with some VERY talented musicians, pyro, lazers. I could do without the whole story/narration thing though. That was kind of a buzz kill throughout for me. When I went, they played a few classic rock covers at the end, not sure if they do that anymore though.

Went years ago, thought it was going to be cool based on my limited knowledge of their material (a few rock versions of Christmas classics). Walked out 30 minutes into it. Wife was laughing hysterically at the over-the-top narrations. Everyone around us was WAY into it. They did not appreciate the giggling and we finally decided it was not for us. Talented musicians involved I suppose, but I find the whole thing void of true artistic merit. The whole thing felt like an over the top church play that thought itself cool. Wife and I still goof on it years later.
That said, I hope you aren't like us and do enjoy it. I've shared that opinion on TD a year or 2 back and got blasted by TSO fans. They are just not for me.

Yeah, I feel the same way you do. I went with my girlfriend and some of her friends and I was pretty underwhelmed for the most part, whereas my girlfriend and her buddies thought the show was amazing. Like I said, the musicians are talented, but overall it wasn't my cup of tea and not something I care to see again. It had some neat parts, but I was glad when it was finally over. I think TSO is a gimmicky show for people who aren't rock fans, but just looking for some 4th of July fireworks type entertainment.

You have to sit through the "rock opera" first half to get to the good stuff in the second half of the show.

Thanks for the feedback. I must admit, I do like the over the top laser, fireworks, pyro stuff every now and then so I think that will be right up my alley. I can understand how it could be annoying to some but I am easily entertained by stuff like that. I do hope they do some classic rock covers at the end.

I play golf occasionally on the course where the founder lives. I'm sure he appreciates the money, but he doesn't really need it. That guys house is beyond ridiculous.

They were a pretty famous group before starting TSO. Ever hear of Savatage? They had money before they decided to cash in on a heavy metal Christmas show.

Alex Skolnick from Testament has also played with them. I don't think he's with them anymore though.

Yeah I think he was out around 2009 or something.

That's not quite what happened, but ok.
Believe what you will.

Hey props to him. Im glad good products can still make a man(or lady) rich. Its capitalism at its best.

Isn't there a symphony (non rock) version of TSO or are they the same band? For example, their version of "Christmas Canon" is one of my favorite Christmas songs. Beautiful song.
