re: Top albums from 1977

Bat Out of Hell and Let There Be Rock were two big albums that year...

Can't remember who all I saw in 1977, but some I remember roughly about that time (I was 17)

Heart - Dreamboat Annie/Little Queen timeframe
Kiss - Alive II tour
Nugent
Segar - Live Bullet Tour (might have been in 76)
Probably ZZTop (lost count)

I've lost interest in all of those through the years, but at that time they were all good shows.

Finding good, non-mainstream music was difficult in those days, especially for a teenager. You had to hear about it from someone, or dig through albums at the record store. We did have an album rock station that would do a Sunday night show featuring a new album you may have never heard of. I discovered David Bromberg on that show and bought My Own House in 78.

IMHO, significantly better than the rest of that list - I cannot even place Television or Wire, and I am a big fan of this era (AOR).

Pink Floyd's Animals, Steely Dan's Aja and Marley's Exodus are better, for my money, as well, than much of that list, but I do like My Aim is True and Heroes.
