I found this on YouTube the other day and decided to post it here to get your opinions on it. I expect opinions to be divided.

Here's the user's Top 10 for those of you who don't want to watch the video in full:

09. Vogue, Madonna (1990)
08. My Name Is, Eminem (1999)
07. Nothing Compares 2 U, Sinead O'Connor (1990)
06. Livin' la Vida Loca, Ricky Martin (1999)
05. Wannabe, Spice Girls (1997)
04. I Will Always Love You, Whitney Houston (1992)
03. My Heart Will Go On, Celine Dion (1997)
02. Smells Like Teen Spirit, Nirvana (1991)
01. ...Baby One More Time, Britney Spears (1998)

Michael Jackson's Black or White isn't top 10? Invalid list, IIRC wasn't that the highest-rated music video premiere in history? and the song was no. 1 across the board, these lists make zero sense sometimes.

Only song I actually bought from that list is Nirvana.
Rest of list is trash.

That's a terrible list. Iconic for whom?

Lists are always funny. I'll give them teen spirit. But how is Enter Sandman not on that list?

ehhhhh

I mean if it wasn't for her being on SNL would anyone really give this song a second thought?

While I'm not a fan of most of the list, I can see it as a fitting list for "iconic". All of these songs were big in the 1990s in some regard. Not that I think they should have been.

It was pretty daggum popular song but it seems it should be labeled as a more iconic video than just the song.

But looking at the list, how did Mmmm Bop, Macarena, or Achy Breaky Heart not make the list?

Most of those are terrible songs, but they were all very popular at their height. Iconic is not the word I'd apply to most of them though.

While I agree that most of the songs are terrible, I disagree on your other premise. Iconic is the correct adjective.

They made the list, just not his Top 10. Macarena is #13 and Mmm Bop is in the Top 20.
