Listening to it for the first time right now. I'm rock hard erect and crying tears of joy. This is beautiful. I needed this so bad!

There are apperently different versions of the case. Most notably the symbols on the back.

I didn't think anything they released would satisfy the transcendent and other worldly expectations I had for this long awaited album.

I walked into it timidly with handcuffed and muffled excitement, scared to be let down by them.

What a fool I was.

Exact same experience I've had. I thought there was no way they could match the hype.

They exceeded it IMO.

With work the only date I can hit is Salt Lake City, so we're buying flight and hotel tomorrow!

Invincible definitely speaks to me, but fear inoculum, descending, 7empest... how do you choose here?

I always thought Lateralus couldn’t be topped. I just finished my 4th round of this album today and am now doubting my long held belief. It’s amazing.

Invincible is going to go down as the most popular song on this album when the dust settles.

It has very accessible and easy to understand lyrics and relatable subject matter for the casual listener. For the long time listeners like myself, It really spoke to me as someone who has listened since high school 15 years ago and now I'm aging. The part that starts at 3:45 with beautiful guitar overtones followed by incredible lyrics was the most personal emotion I've felt from music of any kind in years. Definitely welled up a bit and not afraid to admit it.

Descending has some lyrics that imply that this is the end for tool, and if this is truly their swan song they did it the right way.

Well said. If this is it, thanks for the ride.

7empest knocked the lamp off my speaker

Well, what can I say? My expectations were high, and they still were exceeded. My daughter even seems to be taking a liking to it...a few times she said "this sounds a little like _______ (insert band)", and I'd have to correct her "No, it's the other way around, they sound a little like Tool". In her defense, until today, she wasn't alive when Tool released their last album!

Gonna roll the dice and hope they come to Atlanta or Charlotte...Raleigh's a bit of a haul for me.

Pouring a 40 for those who waited but didn't make it before this got released...

You know,
I'm probably in the same camp. If MJK approached me at Merkin Vineyards and put a gun to my head and said pick one song from this album. This one song will be the only track you will ever hear again from this release....

This moment it's Pneuma.

It really has it all.

Now if he asked me to pick one Tool song form all of their works forever, id probably tell him to just pull the trigger.

I can feel that the later half of the album will become special too but the first 3 tracks are so awesome its hard to emotionally process it all this early in its release.

Descending is starting to attach itself to me more the last few days. I heard them play it live in New Orleans in January of 2016 but it sounds way different now..

listen to Pneuma. Crank it loud.
Prepare for greatness between 8:40--9:30

This is what I was referring to in my request(mistaken complaint). Extend these moments. But for me in Pneuma, the magic is 9:20 then the gut punch at 9:35 to 10:00. That is worthy of an entire dedicated track for most mere mortals. But these guys throw that out there like there's plenty of where that came from.

Pneuma also has an interesting lyric component for me. Would love to see some interpretations from people smarter than I am.

It just instigates a sense of oneness and unity ...

Also makes my donger swell while simultaneously wanting to get under some heavy weight in the gym.

This exact scenario happened with my wife last night.

She said it sounded like tesseract and I said no, tesseract wouldn't be here without tool.
