Being an old guy now, that one resonates. And descending.
It really is a solid album overall.

Invincible is going to go down as the most popular song on this album when the dust settles.
It has very accessible and easy to understand lyrics and relatable subject matter for the casual listener. For the long time listeners like myself, It really spoke to me as someone who has listened since high school 15 years ago and now I'm aging. The part that starts at 3:45 with beautiful guitar overtones followed by incredible lyrics was the most personal emotion I've felt from music of any kind in years. Definitely welled up a bit and not afraid to admit it.
Descending has some lyrics that imply that this is the end for tool, and if this is truly their swan song they did it the right way.

Good music is supposed to. I recently lost my grandfather and while it was nowhere near the same as Maynard's mom, wings 1&2 get me every single time. "it's time now, my time now, give me my, give me my wings."

Is that the leak IN FLAC or the hi-res album tracks? The leak FLAC was still a shitty source
Well, I want to get full lossless. Where do I get that? Can't buy the CD right now

Agree, quickly becoming my fav.
Sounds so much better on the album then the live leaks that happened earlier this summer.

I thought so at first until I read the lyrics in the book, how it's structured and what he says, he's talking about the end of the human race, not Tool. It's a call to arms, literally

I've taken an early liking to the title track. As Maynard exclaims "exhale" I can feel the bullshite of my day wash away and the truly important come into focus...My wife, son, family... As I "expel" the temporary trivial crap I deal with on a daily basis.
Anyway kinda drunk, liking the new album. Glad there's some new Tool to listen to.

I'm pretty sure the leaked torrent was CD quality. I just found Qobuz and it has the 24bit/96Khz. Purchased immediately.

Definitely... His best work of any of the albums by far.
Prob unpopular opinion, but not a huge fan of descending. IMO, it is overshadowed by at lest 4 other tracks on the album.

I felt the same, but I just heard it for about the 6th time and it hit me.
Early feel is, excluding FI because I can't treat it fairly right now with these being so new:
Invincible
7empest
Pneuma
Descending
Culling voices
And I LOVE chocolate chip trip.

My order as of now
The top 3 could easily get into my top 10 Tool tracks of all time. Haven’t really thought about where they would fall overall.
Hope they play all live

You my baw, slut.
7empest like I said earlier is straight off of opiate or undertow. Just classic tool at its finest.
Which one are you hitting up?

Def Houston, but maybe San An too...
Maybe Pilot will join me in San An so we can relive our first date. I owe him for not giving him a reach around the last time

Pilot won't be there, but I'm coming down for the Houston one since they aren't playing in Dallas.

It needs to be said again. Danny Carey is just sick. fricking. Sick.
One of the best drummers to ever live. He is unbelievable. Magic happens every time he picks up a pair of sticks.

Not sure where to start...
I love this album. It has taken me about 5 complete revolutions ( on a great sound system with clean deep bass) to really begin catching the Spirit of the body of work here.
Speaking of Spirit, stop what you are doing and listen to Pneuma. Crank it loud.
Prepare for greatness between 8:40--9:30
The more I listen, the more I discover.
It's like a sandbox with hidden treasure.
So many moments that give me chills.
