After only knowing Beer Run and Statisticians Blues for a long time, I started listening to some more of his stuff for the hell of it. His life stuff is pretty cool. Anyone seen him live or met him? Interesting guy even if I doubt we'd agree on much.

He was one of the first artists signed to Jimmy Buffett's now defunct Margaritaville Records, along with Evangeline and the Iguanas.

I got into this album back then.

It had Alright Guy and Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues.

I've probably heard Alright Guy 100 times and never had any clue it was Snider singing it. Sounds too pop country for me to have caught it since everything else I knew he sang is pretty heavy to folk/alt country.

I've seen him twice. The first time he didn't seem to be into it. Turns out I think he was going through rehab at the time.

I saw him again last year and it was an incredible show. He played the baby grand on a few songs. He's really honed his skill to where he's a great performer these days. He had the audience hanging on to every note and word.

search out Tales from Moondawgs Tavern. It's like a 4 CD bootleg with a bunch of live recordings of his stories and story-based songs. The first time I heard it I was belly laughing till I couldn't come up for air. Hilarious stories.

I love Near Truths and Hotel Rooms. Devil's Backbone story is my favorite thing on there.
