PF were just on another level

And The Beatles were on a level above them. I’m a PF fan and think Comfortably Numb & Wish You Were Here are great songs. But, PF had maybe 8-9 good songs as compared to 50+ by The Beatles. Not even close.

Come on, man...their music is so different. The Beatles could not do what Pink Floyd did, and Pink Floyd could not do what The Beatles did. I enjoy them bot. It's like saying Mozart was better than Hank Williams.

I saw them at the Maravich Assembly Center in 1977. Great show but their music is a little too gloomy and depressing for me to really get into. Just my opinion.

Well if you go that route, the early pioneers of rock made it possible for the Beatles to exist.

the beatles said that themselves

+1000

I just listened to the British release of A Hard Day's Night and couldn't agree more.

60 years old and could still very well be the best cover to cover album of all time.

Btw, listen to the mono releases of their early catalog. ... amazing

Ok

Based on your reasoning, Michael Jackson's -Thriller, Madonna's - "Who's That Girl", "Nevermind" by Nirvana, Metallica's first album, 1989 by Taylor Swift, Saturday Night Fever, and Bob Marley's greatest hits are all also better.

Not my reasoning. I was responding to your specific statement about “greatest album.”

Most of the artists you mentioned aren't even “bands,” and Marley/Legend is not a studio album.

I think DSOTM is actually a pretty good album.

I just listed a few albums that were on the charts longer than A Hard Day's Night. Which if we used the same gauge you did, we could make the claim that they were better. While they obviously weren't.

Understood thanks for clarifying.

Didn’t mean to be jumpy. I fricked up and sparred with a few PT idiots this week.

We can agree to disagree. I think there’s enough global concensus that we’re both probably right. Gilmour wins on instrumental talent though :)

Cheers.

Cmon dude. This is absurd. Gilmour’s guitar work is revered as some of the best of all time.
