So I always thought I knew what this song was about until someone else gave me a diffeent angle.
Is it about a girl who is a brick, and a guy who is a wuss and can't handle everything as well as she is...
or
Is it about a guy who is being taken down by this girl and can't wait for this abortion to happen so he can dump her.

On the album Ben Folds Live, Folds explained: "People ask me what this song's about... I was asked about it a lot, and I didn't really wanna make a big hairy deal out of it, because I just wanted the song to speak for itself. But the song is about when I was in high school, me and my girlfriend had to get an abortion, and it was a very sad thing. And, I didn't really want to write this song from any kind of political standpoint, or make a statement. I just wanted to reflect what it feels like. So, anyone who's gone through that before, then you'll know what the song's about."

2 is closer, but I don't see what you're seeing.

As weeks went by
It showed that she was not fine
They told me "Son, it's time
To tell the truth"
And she broke down
And I broke down
Cause I was tired of lying
Driving back to her apartment
For the moment we're alone
She's alone
I'm alone
Now I know it
Pretty explanatory...?

That abortions are hard to deal with, sure. But it doesn't really answer my question.

So pretty much the same as "Freshmen" by the verve pipe.

Well, that's about a girl that kills herself after the guy dumps her.
right?
right?

Speaking of “The Freshman”, did any of that song actually happen ?“Yeah, I mean I used a dramatic license to have the girl commit suicide when she is actually still alive and well. But, for the most part, yeah. She had the abortion and that’s about the whole story.”

Thought it was well known it was about an abortion

I used to think baby's breath was another wedding reference.

According to the Verve Pipe's FAQ, guitarist and lead singer Brian Vander Ark wrote the song in 1991 about the guilt he felt from his ex-girlfriend committing suicide.
However, according to an external interview site, Vander Ark revealed that the suicide was poetic license; the real incident which inspired the song was when his pregnant girlfriend had an abortion.
During a visit to Gull Lake High School on March 12, 2012, Brian Vander Ark said that the story was largely fictional:
"At the time I was dating a girl in college. We broke up and my friend dated her and then I went out with her again. We went back and forth. From there I came up with the story of her getting pregnant and having an abortion,” Vander Ark said. “It started though with, by the way the girl is fine and not a bad thing happened; it was just coming up with that story, and the inspiration is alive."

The true meaning of this song as stated in an interview with lead singer/songwriter Brian Vander Ark:
What is "The Freshmen" about?
It was written by Brian Vander Ark. It told the story of a guy whose girlfriend had committed suicide. At the height of the The Freshman success, Vander Ark told reporters that the song was based on bits and pieces of a conversation he'd overheard at a party. Now he admits that the song was more personal than he previously led the public to believe, and that his actions in covering the truth were cowardly. "It happened to me," he said, "but I didn't want to expose myself in that way, especially without a safety net. It's funny because The Freshmen was written about a situation that had happened to me and I said it was about somebody else," Vander Ark says."I was feeling guilty about the success of The Freshman, because it came from exploiting a girlfriend who committed suicide. So, I thought, Okay, I'm successful now because I wrote a song about this. That's basically exploitation. Then I thought, screw it. Because I wrote this song, I made so many people happy and so many people could identify. It was therapy for those people. So, I thought, I'm a jerk but I want to be a hero."

Well, duh.
She's a brick and I'm drowning slowly
Does that mean she is sinking and taking him with her or is she being rock solid like a brick and he is not handling it well?

This. He feels bad for causing her to have the abortion in the first place and now she's struggling with it and bringing him down too. So he sees that they're going to end up breaking up over this and he feels even worse for that.
