There's a lot of jazz in Western Swing, especially in the early days.
Some people called it Cowboy Jazz.
If you watch the Kenny Vaughan video, he notes the early Nashville studio pros were jazz guys. Chet Atkins had a jazzy style, Merle Travis, as well.
Roy Clark and Jerry Reed show jazz influences in some of their work, as does Steve Warner.

I've kept all my good ones, but I had a BC Rich Warlock that I bought for $90 and never should have sold

That thing actually played really well for what it was. I was big on metal at the time too so it just worked. My dad loved that guitar

Yep. Love Chet. Vince Gill and his band do some great swing stuff.

Carvin dc-150

I was in a jam 30 or so years ago and sold it. I really had stopped playing (learning) anyways so I figured no big deal. Well about 10 years ago I got back into playing and have guitars I like, but I do miss this one.

I guess I’ve been fortunate, I’ve never sold or traded a guitar I was truly happy with.

Looking back though, I sold a 1991-era Carvin PB300 amp with a 1-15 cab that sounded perfect to my ears. Took me 2 decades and a ton of experimenting to replicate if (fortunately at about 1/3 the weight).

Had an early 70s. Les Paul Triumph bass. Traded it 30 years ago in Auburn at the guitar shop that I think was near Cheeburger Cheeburger. Trade for one of the 1st Generation Zoom Bass multi effects units. So stupid. And to this day I still don’t get along with multi effects.

They have one now at Guitar Center Hoover that looks just like the one I had. They let me check it out for nostalgia. Not as heavy as a T40, but close. They are asking $2500. They have listed as a recording bass, but I think it’s a triumph.

Not sure if serious. P90s or PAF? I know bursts are what everyone flips out over, but a 57 gold top with PAFs is the same guitar, just with the gold finish, and I love the way they look aged.
