The difference between the Summer of ‘93 and ‘94. Which do you like better?

Tough decision cuz I really like a lot on both charts. I was gonna say ‘93 edges it out. But I don’t think so. It’s a tie for me.
Haven’t thought about this song in decades. Reminds me of my best friend and just sitting around her apartment drinking before going out or after going out.

I don't remember Tears for Fears having a top song into the 90s, but I guess they did.

While they are not all available, many of these rock lists have a corresponding playlist on Spotify. If you search "Billboard modern rock tracks" with the date, there are a lot of them already made.

I'd probably give the nod to '94, although there are only a handful of songs on either list that I can still listen to. Either they've been overplayed in the years since or they were just of the time and didn't age well...many of them IMO are best left in the past.
And seeing Black Francis on the '94 list makes me gag. frick that dude. I hold him responsible for Pixies never getting to the pinnacle like they should have after Surfer Rosa and Doolittle. Kim Deal showed everybody what was up with The Breeders.

I'm probably sharing a little too much but I think both are equal in terms of music. It's getting harder for me to distinguish things that occurred in 93 and 94. Those two years are all one big blur. Looking back it was probably the darkest days of my life but sometimes I want to return to it if only to tell that guy everything is going to be OK.
Maybe lean to summer of '93. My nostalgia feelz hit a little harder when I think of the soundtrack of my life at that time.

I was working at a computer retailer in Houston 6 days a week and going out 7 nights a week. Talk about burning the candle at both ends but caught so many great shows back in the day for free or practically free. Nirvana for $10, mudhoney, Melvins, Hole, L7, smashing pumpkins....so many bands just showed up at Emos and played for free and there wasn't even a cover charge. How the hell did that even work?
Partied until 3am most nights. Drive through 99 cent breakfast burritos at Taco Cabana, sleep for 3 hours head into work.
Crazy days. I had no idea at the time just how crazy they were.
