I liked it but I like Springsteen and have managed to never hear Royals. I've heard other Lorde songs (I like Tennis Court) and am aware this song was the big hit but I've managed to avoid it somehow.

He's not releasing a single. He's playing in her town to a huge audience. I think it's more of a shout out to her. He played an ACDC song on the Australian leg of the tour also.

I am no Springsteen fan and this is one of the reasons why. All of the strained faces and fake emotion just doesn't cut it. He is on my list of most over-rated entertainers of all time. (ducks to avoid rotten tomatoes thrown by fans)
