Alabama. I can’t believe it took 3 pages to mention them.
Here’s another: The Mavericks

Mentioned on the first page, third comment to the OP.

I like Alabama but Buck Owens and his Buckaroos had a big influence on southern rock. They were huge in a short amount time with the Bakersfield sound. Had Don Rich not have died in a tragic accident and Buck Owens not got to do Hee Haw then they would be leaving the rest in the dust.

Oops. I stand corrected.

Saw them earlier this year; great live show.
BR-549 was a lot of fun, though I don't know if I'd list them with Alabama and other obvious answers. More country than Jason and the Scorchers though.

Man, I walked on to Bob Will's bus one time, In the town of Turkey, Texas.
It was parked beside an old gas station.

Yeah, Alabama is the answer here.
Ricky Skaggs also has a great band I haven’t seen mentioned. Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys also changed the game.

Alabama is my favorite but I really liked Exile & Restless Heart to.
Little Texas & Blackhawk weren't to bad either.

Currently it’s Turnpike Troubadours and Mike and the Moonpies

The Mavericks?
I remember them from the 90s. We’re they a band or just 3 singers?
