I throw Beatles on a lot of my play lists or CDs for the car. Mainly Rocky Racoon and Drive My Car
The Beatles may not be played at parties but neither does Passion Pit. Or at least not the ones I go to.

The Beatles were a bunch of talentless pretty boys who were in the right place at the right time to ride on Ringo's coattails all the way to the bank.
Passion Pit on the other hand has changed music as we know it and has more street cred than any musician since Franz Liszt.
Passion Pit > Beatles

I didn't say that it happened frequently. But it has happened.
No way of offering proof. It was probably one of those older folks that put it on anyway.

I guess I'll have to listen to passion Pit to give an opinion. If the band is as good as yall say it is, is there a reason they chose the gayest most off putting name ever?
When I here that band name I picture a bunch of tween girls in a pink room listening to it surrounded by unicorn stuffed animals and rainbows.
Panic at the Disco
My chemical Romance
Passion Pit
It fits right in

Some of the biggest crowd reactions I have seen is when a band covers The Beatles. Neil Young "A Day in the Life" at Jazz Fest 2009, Portugal The Man ends nearly every show with a Beatles medley, Phish has "A Day in the Life" in their rotation and recently opened a show up with "Back in the USSR" , Galactic doing "I Am the Walrus" , etc....

Pretty much my exact impression judging by the name. I listened to about 30 seconds of a song, and I got about what I expected. I know you can't judge the entirety of a band by 30 seconds, but I just didn't have the patience for it at the time. I might try again at a later point, but I probably won't make a point of it.

Biggest reaction I ever saw at a Phish show was during a sleepyhead cover.
Check mate.

can't say ... i dunno who the f**k passion pit is

If you enjoy Passion Pit so much, why would you compare them to arguably to the greatest band ever?
You should just say, "I rank Passion Pit right up there with Chumbawumba, Jesus Jones and Tears for Fears." Now this would be a much better argument than comparing them to The Beatles.

Passion Pit extended one of their songs for 45 seconds once at a live show
This qualifies them as a jam band, so they are clearly superior to the Beatles, who rarely get any air time at parties I go to

No, Drake is the old Passion Pit.

"No madam", Jefferson replied. "I merely succeed Dr. Franklin. No one can replace him."
