Best IMO as well. Ending sequence with golden Slumbers/carry that weight/ the end plus the reintroduction of you never give me your money is absolutely beautiful.

It's an absolutely tremendous melody. I'm thinking Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" is a worthy challenger, although it doesn't flow quite so well and unbroken.

I wore the grooves off that album when it first came out and for years to come. I especially like the Sun King/Mean Mr. Mustard/Polythene Pam transition portion. Paul was right, in that the section sounds much better without Her Majesty, which had originally been placed between Mean Mr. Mustard and Polythene Pam on the first mix.
There is really not a dog on the whole album, front to back. This one belongs in every music fan's library.

I laugh at the punks who declare the Beatles "overrated"... as if you COULD overrate something like this, or as if you could overrate the biggest group, by far, that ever hit the music scene.

I love that album. Never really liked "Octopus's Garden", but the rest of the songs more than make up for it.

The only album that tops Abbey Road, IMO, is Pet Sounds. But I've got those two ranked at 1 and 2, and it's a slim margin.

Nothing about the song ever did it for me. The only Beatles' song that I enjoy less is "Revolution #9". But I have listened to both over the years many times.

That album = perfection
It's amazing how they rebounded from the epic FAIL "Get Back" sessions and put all of the drama aside to record this magical piece of brilliance. They went out with their best music. It's pretty interesting that the White Album was full of conflict and problems....Let it Be was the same, just worse....yet every one of those albums were amazing.
