Wow that was awesome

was awesome, still wish the chili peppers could have played till 7 but whatever. Not to gripe but that new guitarist should not have been singing, ever.

They had a jam with them at Voodoo a while back when frusicante was still in the band. And that was amazin

Really miss this guy after seeing the new guy tonight. It seems like they tried to drown out his guitar. Very good show otherwise.

His backup vocals were beyond awful. Like embarrassing. Still loved the show though.

That was pretty epic, but even my daughter mentioned the Chili Peppers started walking all over them towards the end of their guest appearance...
Also did not seem like a long enough show, we stayed thinking there was going to be another encore?

I know it's a common position, but I don't listen to RHCP without John. And while I like some of his solo work, it's really the combination I like the best.

I bet it was funky (in the best possible way.)

Didn't Frusciante leave for good in 2009?

Uh, Klinghoffer has been a regular member for 7 years and has touring with them for 9 years.
With Kiedis as a lead signer, you pretty much have to consider actual vocal quality not to be particularly relevant with this band.

Yes. He was the guitarist for RHCP from 1988 to 1992, then again from 1998 to 2009.
He recorded with them:
Mother's Milk
Blood Sugar Sex Magik
Californication
By The Way
Stadium Arcadium
Other than the early work with Sherman (The Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Slovak (Freakey Styley and The Uplift Mofo Party Plan), Dave Navarro (
Everything the Peppers did that matters had Slovak (RIP) or Frusciante on guitar. They're almost incapable of writing songs without Frusciante since Slovak died.
So, yeah, Josh is the new guy, will be the new guy in 20 years and ever after. He's a decent side man, but Frusciante is, frankly, irreplaceable from the RHCP's perspective.

The Peppers were finished the instant Fruscianti quit for good.

I was about 30 feet away from John during that Voodoo show and I saw them again with klinghoffer back when they played new Orleans for the I'm with you tour.
I want to preface this by saying I think Josh is a great guitarist. He's really innovative and a lot of his style comes from playing with John for years.
And John still is light years better than him. The Chili Peppers should have retired when John left. He's one of the 5 best guitarists of all time.

I didn't realize people listened to RHCP past the age of 15

Hey now. BSSM still holds up as a great album.

Josh has a solid voice, but it doesn't fit their style at all. It's even more androgynous than John.

Yeah, Kiedis is terrible.
