If it's like every other George Strait album, there are 2 good songs on it and a bunch of junk.

After my first listen I’m already loving “some nights”.

Pretty good so far

Also old violin, an old paycheck cover, is really good. Daryle singletary covered it too, like what George did with it.

Yeah 28 studio albums and 61 #1 hits. George really needs to step his game up

Give me an all-Strait 24/7 radio station vs what passes for country stations today

He kind of has a special genre of “plain country”. Not bro, not pop, not outlaw. Not knocking it. He has a winning formula that appeals to the non-discerning taste of the masses.

I have no idea what this means

He's the GOAT. He's played traditional country his entire career. The love songs, jukebox jams, tear jerkers, he kills all of it

His catalog is so large that radio and streaming services overlook his Uber- country “Friday night fever, thought I heard you calling my name, down and out,” etc.

I mean , radio plays“ write this down” which is not even top 100 in my mind.

Cool. I like George Strait. Most of his albums though have 1-3 good songs on them, then a bunch of junk. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

God and Country Music is going to go down as an all time great for George. Its such a great song. The simplicity and pureness of George's voice is what really makes the song. It wouldnt have nearly the impact with other artists.

I think you are being a little too much of an arse trying to get your point across, but you have some merit in what you are saying.

George is one of my top three artists of all time, but other than maybe Pure Country, he doesnt really have that one album that stands out as an all time great.

The parts are greater than they whole with George, but thats ok. It doesnt mean he isnt one of the all time greats.

No feelings hurt here. But I think this statement applies to majority of musicians in all genres. Until the powers that be quit making albums have 13 songs, most have 2 good ones and a lot of fluff.

Bit overstated but I tend to agree. I've quit buying his full albums since early-mid 2000's. He's had some good albums/song since then but his filler songs are terrible IMO. His 80's-90's albums I could listen to front to back.

I realize he also set the bar really high to continue to put out great music.

I love music but I'm not a musically gifted person so this might be hard to explain. Chill of an Early Fall is one of my favorite GS songs, his music or production doesn't sound like that anymore. Some Nights off his new album, good song but just doesn't have that same music/sound of his best stuff.

Yep. Early Strait is as good as it gets.

ALso, folks saying his albums only have a couple good songs need to listen to his first 5 or so albums.

You’re entitled to your opinion, but I’ve never heard “junk” on any of his albums.

Neither have i. And apparently that hurts my feelings lol

Most of George's albums are enjoyable to me beginning to end if im on a long drive. Its just easy listening traditional country music. If im in the minority with that opinion thats fine

I saw him and Chris Stapleton Saturday night in Atlanta and purposefully didn't listen to the album so I could hear a few live for the first time. He didn't disappoint AT ALL. Was an awesome show and I'm glad I got to see King George before his inevitable next going away tour

The other day I listened to GS for several hours straight. I tired 0% of it.
